NIKE Girls Basketball Camp Championship Friday at Kings Ridge

Posted by Anonymous | Monday, July 27, 2015 | Category: | 0 comments

This past week, we hosted our second NIKE Girls camp in Atlanta at Kings Ridge Christian School. The girls filled the gym with heart, hustle, and positive energy all week, and the coaches loved having the opportunity to develop the talents of each player. Thanks to the hard work put in day in and day out by our dedicated coaching staff as well as determination from our campers they were able to get one percent better each day!

Every exciting moment this week at the NIKE Girls Basketball Camp led up to Championship Friday, which was nothing short of exhilarating. This day is treasured by both staffers and campers, and everyone filed into the gym with an extra hop in his step that morning. Anticipation shone in the eyes of the players, and the energy in the room was palpable. We started off the day with Living By Numbers. Next we quickly jumped into our individual skills stations for a quick review. Each day the campers rotated between 3 different skill stations. Individual skills, 3on3, and classroom session helps teach all parts of the game to the campers.

Now its championship time! The first championship round was the 5on5 games.  The WNBA, College and High School division championships were balanced throughout the week. Next was our Living By Numbers Championships. With so many returning campers, there was a lot of anticipation of who will be selected. The Living by Numbers (LBN) program online has been extremely beneficial to most of the campers. Lastly, the crowd favorite was 3on3 Cut Throat Championship. All week the campers have been earning points and learning different ways to be successful with their teams. Coaches, players, and parents enjoyed the intensity during the 3on3 games.

Championship Friday ended with our NIKE Awards Ceremony. All the campers received camp T-shirts, workbooks, player evaluations, and various fun prizes. Below is the list of LBN winners and the photos of the individual winners. We are sad the camp ended today, but we are more excited about the improvement of all the campers. Thanks for a great week Kings Ridge!

NIKE Basketball Camp: Championship Friday at Christ Presbyterian Academy

Posted by Anonymous | Sunday, July 26, 2015 | Category: | 0 comments

Coach Drew Maddux and his crew returned to Christ Presbyterian Academy for a second week of NIKE Basketball Camp this summer. This location has a very special place in Coach Maddux's heart; he has been the Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach, as well as the Admissions Director, at CPA for the past eight years. He has led the Lions to a combined 240-44 record and two state championship appearances in his years as head coach. This week, he brought that same winning energy to the NIKE Boys Basketball Camp. This week's players demonstrated the true determination and drive it takes to be champions, and the coaches loved working with this group every second of the week. We cannot wait to return to the Academy next summer!

NIKE Boys Basketball Camp: Championship Friday at Homewood High School July

Posted by Anonymous | Saturday, July 25, 2015 | Category: | 0 comments

We had a blast this week at our second sold-out camp at Homewood High School this summer! The talent at Homewood is always top-notch; we could not have asked for better players both on and off the court. Every day, the campers showed up with enthusiasm, eager to hit the hardwood with their coaches and improve their skills in the best game. It was a bittersweet end, and we can't wait to return next summer!

Throughout this week, the NIKE Boys Basketball Camp at Homewood High School had exciting and great moments that all led up to Championship Friday which could only be described as lively and electrifying for all staffers and campers. That morning, the campers filed into the gym with an extra bounce in their step. Everyone's eyes reflected with excitement for the fun activities ahead. The first item on the agenda was the Living By Numbers competitions followed by a quick review in individual skills stations. Each day the campers rotated between 3 different skill stations. Individual skills, 3on3, and classroom session help teach all parts of the game to the campers, developing multi-faceted and knowledgeable players.

See you next summer, Homewood!
