Elite Hoops Playset: Izzo SLOB

Posted by Anonymous | Tuesday, December 15, 2015 | Category: |

Tom Izzo has been at Michigan St running a successful program for many years. One of the reasons for this is that every possession is looked at as critical and even when the ball is taken out of bounds they are looking for quick hitters and easy buckets. This SLOB gives Mich St layup, 3pt, and slip options that most plays do not. Any mistake made by the defense can turn into an easy two points.

This SLOB begins with P2 passing to P1 flashing towards half court. P2 then sprints off of a backscreen set by P3 while P1 dribbles to the opposite wing looking to make the post feed. P3 immediately cuts between the gate screen set by the post players looking for an open 3. If defended well, P4 or P5 can slip and look for a layup.
