NIKE Boys Basketball Camp: Championship Friday at Piney Grove Middle School

Posted by Anonymous | Saturday, June 21, 2014 | Category: | 0 comments

One of Elite Hoops main goal is to make sure our campers feel as if they are known, understood, and appreciated by each and every coach on staff. Sometimes the larger camps take a few more extra days to reach our goal, but camp here at Piney Grove is always a much easier location to quickly know each and every camper on a more personal level. This is one reason why coaches enjoy working their week at this gym. While camp is a much smaller ratio, our coaches like to make sure that the campers still fill the gym with excitement.  The campers this week lived up to the coaches request and made sure that even though they were at a smaller sized camp, they brought a whole new level of energy that filled the gym as if over a 100 campers were present. Way to make us proud campers! While 63 campers attended this week, we hope that the other's who were on the wait list get to attend next year as well! See you next summer Piney Grove!

Throughout this week, the NIKE Boys Basketball Camp at Piney Grove had exciting and great moments. Championship Friday was nothing less than inspirational for all the staffers and campers. That morning, the campers walked into the gym with an extra bounce in their step. Anyone could notice the focused and determined look in the eyes of the campers. We started off the day with living by numbers. Next we quickly jumped into our individual skills stations for a quick review. Each day the campers rotated between 3 different skill stations. Individual skills, 3on3, and video session gives helps teach all parts of the game to the campers.

Now its championship time! The first championship round was the 5on5 games.  The NBA and high school division championships was balanced throughout the week. Next was our Living By Numbers Championships. With so many returning campers, there was a lot of anticipation of who will be selected. Living by Numbers (LBN) program online has been extremely beneficial to most of the campers. Lastly the crowd favorite was 3on3 Cut Throat Championship. All week the campers have been earning points and learning different ways to be successful with their teams. Coaches, players, and parents enjoyed the intensity during the 3on3 games.

Championship Friday ended with our NIKE Awards Ceremony. All the campers received camps T-shirts, workbooks, players evaluations, and various fun prizes. Below is the list of LBN winners and the photos of the individual winners. We are sad the camp ended today, but we are more excited about the improvement of all the campers. See you next year Piney Grove!

Now, watch as two of our campers tie and break two Living By Numbers drills. Lucas Garabadian ties the NBA record for Cone Layups with a total of 9! Zak Thomas sets the new record for the High School Division of 250 dribbles in Two Ball Power Dribble.

NIKE Boys Basketball Camp: Championship Friday at Episcopal Collegiate

Posted by Anonymous | Sunday, June 15, 2014 | Category: | 0 comments

This is the third straight year for Elite Hoops and NIKE Basketball camp to be held at Episcopal Collegiate, and for such a new location, it surely has quickly grown to be a favorite. In just three years this camp has grown so popular it was sold out weeks before camp started on Monday. 93 hardworking, high energy, and fun campers attended this past week, and we have all come to agree that this was one of the best weeks yet. We had one camper walk away with some extra money for hitting the half court shot when money was placed on the ground right in front of him, and we had a coach take home the prize with best Throwback Thursday jersey we have seen yet. We hope that the campers had just as much as we did helping them improve on their skills while also finding and building on their passion for the game. Episcopal's hardwood is always open to them! Until next time Arkansas!

NIKE Boys Basketball Camp: Championship Friday at GAC

Posted by Anonymous | Sunday, June 8, 2014 | Category: | 0 comments

Every year at GAC, camps seem to get more and more intense and energy filled. This specific high school has won 4 State Championships under Coach Martin and continue to be one of the top high school basketball teams around. We believe that when the campers step into camp at GAC they already know that they are on a winners court, and battle to keep up with all the wins that have taken place on the hardwoods of this school. This year our 93 campers showed us what they had and truly got better 1% each day. To our new first year campers and our returnees of many summers, we salute you! Your hard work, your teamwork, and your dedication to six hours of camp a day for a week truly sets you above many other players out there. Keep working hard, keep being a teammate, and keep your energy high, and one day you too may be playing on a team with a winners court.

Throughout this week, the NIKE Boys Basketball Camp at Greater Atlanta Christian School had exciting and great moments. Championship Friday was nothing less than inspirational for all the staffers and campers. That morning, the campers walked into the gym with an extra bounce in their step. Last time Kell High School and Elite Hoops combined forces was for the Elite Camp last year. The select group of NIKE basketball campers competed to be the best of the best. This week had a similar intensity at Kell High School. The Marietta and surrounding area players came to camp with a need to prove attitude. Head Varsity Boys Coach Jermaine Sellers has done an outstanding job in his second making sure the kids get a great opportunity to learn and be active. We saw a lot of great hustle and focus this week and we cannot wait to see what our next camp at Kell will have in store for us.

NIKE Coed Basketball Camp: Championship Friday at Vestavia High School

Posted by Anonymous | Saturday, May 31, 2014 | Category: | 0 comments

The first week of camps for the summer always tend to come with some pre-camp jitters. The coaches are working hard to prove their skills and exciting new position on the NIKE Elite Hoops staff. The campers work hard and prove their dedication to the game of basketball by spending their first week of their summer break in the gym improving their game. Now that is what we call a true athlete! And of course, we can't forget our parents who worked hard getting their kids to camp on time everyday!  This first camp at Vestavia Hills High School was so GREAT that we may just have to say this has been the best first camp of the season yet. These players surely knew how to start this summer, and set the standards extremely high. Until 2015 Vestavia! Keep working hard!
