With high school basketball in full swing, it is a great time of year to go catch some Georgia high school basketball games. The talent level in the Atlanta area is unreal. I have always been biased to the basketball up north since it is where I grew up, but living in the south now for almost 2 years, my mind set has changed. I have been able to attend many games this season so far and the level of play is remarkable on both the boys and girls side.
The girl’s side has 3 of the top 15 players in the country being from Atlanta (Buford, Norcross, and North Gwinnett) and 8 players total in the top 50 in the country. It is no wonder that Georgia high school basketball is one of the best in the country. A lot of people may say they don’t like watching girls basketball, but I promise it will be worth your time, especially when you go to a game where you have some of these top teams matched-up. These girls play at a high level and will be significant contributors to the big time college programs that will be heading to in the fall. If you have a chance, go catch a game and see them first hand. They have what it takes to get to the next level, do you?
