NIKE Boys Basketball Camp: Championship Friday at Christ Presbyterian Academy

Posted by Morgan Moynihan | Tuesday, July 29, 2014 | Category: |

Drew Maddux and chosen staff once again finished off another week of camp at CPA with amazing results. Every aspect of this camp was incredible. Campers were filled with energy and readiness to get better each and every day. They came to camp ready to listen, learn, and work hard. Those are three aspects every coach desires in each of their players. As this summer comes to an end we are proud to say that Drew Maddux has successfully created and ran camps for another year at CPA, and we can't wait to offer camp at this location again next year! We hope to see each of your faces next summer whether it be one or multiple weeks! Great week campers, keep up the hard work!

Throughout this week, the NIKE Boys Basketball Camp at CPA had exciting and great moments. Championship Friday was nothing less than inspirational for all the staffers and campers. That morning, the campers walked into the gym with an extra bounce in their step. Anyone could notice the focused and determined look in the eyes of the campers. We started off the day with living by numbers. Next we quickly jumped into our individual skills stations for a quick review. Each day the campers rotated between 3 different skill stations. Individual skills, 3on3, and video session gives helps teach all parts of the game to the campers.

Now its championship time! The first championship round was the 5on5 games.  The NBA and high school division championships was balanced throughout the week. Next was our Living By Numbers Championships. With so many returning campers, there was a lot of anticipation of who will be selected. Living by Numbers (LBN) program online has been extremely beneficial to most of the campers. Lastly the crowd favorite was 3on3 Cut Throat Championship. All week the campers have been earning points and learning different ways to be successful with their teams. Coaches, players, and parents enjoyed the intensity during the 3on3 games.

Championship Friday ended with our NIKE Awards Ceremony. All the campers received camps T-shirts, workbooks, players evaluations, and various fun prizes. Below is the list of LBN winners and the photos of the individual winners. We are sad the camp ended today, but we are more excited about the improvement of all the campers. See you next year CPA!
