With lower level athletes on different levels of basketball, coaches have to find ways to create shots for players that are not able to do so alone. Many Division II teams have a couple players that can knock down the 3 but are unable to show their talents because their shot is too slow or they are never in the correct position to shoot. "D2 Elevator" is the perfect play to solve these issues for a high percentage shooter.
"D2 Elevator" begins with P1 passing to the wing and setting a pin screen for P5 to post. P4, P5, and P1 then pop to the perimeter while the ball is swung twice to P2. P3 immediately sprints to the middle of the paint. While the dribble handoff is happening with P1 and P2, P3 is running through a double screen from the two bigs looking for space to shoot a 3.
