One of the best teams out west and number 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament Gonzaga has excelled above and beyond expectations. To go along with a skilled group of players, they have designed a number of sets that takes advantage of their size along with their strong perimeter shooting. The set below is a go to that has earned Gonzaga point after point throughout the season.
This play begins with P1 dribbling to the wing and P3 curling off of a staggered screen for some misdirection. P1 then hits P3 while P4 sprints into a ball screen. At this moment, P3 has the option to drive, pull up, kick to the corner or pass back to P4 for a high low. If all of these options are taken away, P2 sets a cross screen for P5 for a post isolation.
