On day 4 of the NIKE Basketball Camp at Stockbridge High School, players continued to work on individual skill development with their morning stations and from the first day, our goal each in everyday in those stations was to "not mistake activity for achievement." Going through the motions and working at half speed was not an option if players truly wanted to improve their skills. Each player has tried to make sure that when ever they are going through a drill, a station, or 5 on 5 games they are trying to get better by going full speed.
Although working on basketball skills is important at camp, coaches are also trying to foster an environment of sportsmanship between players at camp as well. Campers are working on showing good sportsmanship. It is not out of the ordinary to see players giving high fives, encouraging one another, be it in games or in stations. These players that pay special attention to being good teammates by showing good sportsmanship are players that coaches love to have on their teams. Hopefully, we will see some of our best sportsmanship and hard work tomorrow for "Championship Friday!"
