Right outside of Birmingham, Alabama at Homewood Middle School, Elite Hoops is hosting it's 3rd annual NIKE Boys Basketball Camp and for the second consecutive year it is sold out.
Here at the NIKE/Elite Hoops Basketball Camps, we believe that the best way to learn a skill is to start with the basics. One of the fundamental moves/drills taught today at our Post Play station was the Drop Step move. This drill helps post players read the defense and position themselves around the defender by making a simple drop step towards the basket. Players ran through the move 10-15 times without any defense and then progress into live action with the move. This helps players get a feel for positioning and spacing while also improving their muscle memory. By teaching players the basic moves on Monday, we are able to progress them through a series of moves and techniques throughout the week.
